CANONSBURG’S OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS DECEMBER 5 – 6, 2025 Downtown Canonsburg

Canonsburg’s Old Fashioned Christmas will turn downtown Canonsburg into a storybook holiday village on December 5–6, 2025, inviting visitors to “step into a Hallmark movie” for one magical weekend. With twinkling lights, festive music, and small‑town charm on every corner, this beloved celebration has become one of Western Pennsylvania’s signature Christmas traditions.

A Hallmark-style holiday weekend

Now in its ninth year, Canonsburg’s Old Fashioned Christmas draws thousands of visitors to the borough’s historic downtown for two days of classic holiday fun. The festival has been highlighted as one of Pennsylvania’s most “Hallmark movie‑esque” destinations, thanks to its cozy streetscapes, nostalgic decorations, and welcoming community atmosphere.

Dates, times, and location

The 2025 celebration takes place Friday, December 5, from 4–8 p.m., and Saturday, December 6, from noon–8 p.m., in downtown Canonsburg, centered along West Pike Street and on surrounding borough lots. Visitors can stroll the closed‑off streets, explore different activity areas, and easily access shops, churches, and community spaces that join in the festivities.

Christmas market and food court

At the heart of the event is a bustling Christmas market featuring more than 60 craft and gift vendors spread across several outdoor market areas. Shoppers will find handmade clothing, jewelry, home décor, seasonal items, treats, and unique gifts. At the same time, a dedicated food court and multiple food trucks serve everything from comfort favorites to festive goodies.

Tree lighting, parade, and live entertainment

The weekend includes many of the hallmarks of a classic community Christmas, including a community tree lighting ceremony and a festive holiday parade through town. Throughout both days, stages and sidewalks come alive with live entertainment, from choirs and local musicians to costumed characters and memorable performances that keep the energy high.

Family fun and visits with Santa

Families will find plenty to keep children busy, including kids’ games and activities, face painting, a toy train display, and photo opportunities with Santa at the “North Pole.” Story time with Mrs. Claus, appearances by the Grinch and other Christmas characters, and even live reindeer help create the feeling of stepping into a winter fantasy.

Planning your visit

Admission and many attractions are free, making the festival an accessible outing for families, couples, and groups looking to make memories without breaking the holiday budget. Visitors are encouraged to dress for the weather, arrive early for parking, and consider extending their stay at nearby hotels or inns that cater to out‑of‑town guests during the busy holiday weekend.
