For the first time since 2022, the share of millennial renters (ages 29-43) who can afford homeownership has stabilized, rising slightly to 20.4% in 2024 from 20.2% in 2023. This follows a steep decline from 34% in 2021. Affordability is higher in Midwest and Southern metros, with top cities including Pittsburgh (33.8%), Cleveland (27.1%), and Buffalo (26.3%).
