Celebrate the official start of the region’s holiday season at Highmark Light Up Night in downtown Pittsburgh, on Saturday, November 22, 2025. This annual event features tree lighting ceremonies, fireworks, holiday markets, pop-up concerts, kids’ crafts, and ice skating at PPG Place. Residents of Upper St. Clair easily join the festivities, which attract families and friends from all of the South Hills
Tree Lightings, Fireworks & Bridges Aglow
The lighting of all the Three Sisters bridges, The Roberto Clemente, Rachel Carson and Andy Warhol, spanning Downtown to the North Shore.
Tree lightings for are as follows:
- TBD – City of Pittsburgh’s Tree lighting and Rooftop Fireworks at the City-County Building
- TBD – UPMC Ultimate Holiday Tree Lights and ACS Tribute of Light Ceremony at PPG Plaza
- TBD – Iconic Highmark Christmas Tree lighting and Zambelli Rooftop Fireworks at Penn Ave and Stanwix Street
- TBD – Sister Bridges will debut their brand new light installation, which will then be a permanent addition to this passage to the North Shore.
- TBD – Xfinity Fireworks Spectacular finale at the Allegheny Overlook on Ft. Duquesne Boulevard
Peoples Gas Holiday Market
In Market Square, you’ll find the picturesque Peoples Gas Holiday Market. Inspired by the original German Christkindlmarkts, the Holiday Market features national and local vendors housed in vintage, wooden chalets selling one-of-a-kind holiday gifts.
Live Music
Spanning five stages and several genres of music, you’ll find everything from national headliners to local legends to carolers.
