Witchboard (2025): A Sinister Séance Revived

Horror fans, get ready to summon terror—Witchboard, the highly anticipated remake of the 1986 supernatural cult classic, hits theaters August 15, 2025. Directed by genre legend Chuck Russell (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3The Blob), this chilling new chapter reimagines the occult thrills of the original for a fresh generation of fright-seekers.

Plot: A Haunting in the French Quarter

Set against the moody, supernatural-rich backdrop of New Orleans, the story follows Emily (Madison Iseman) and her fiancé Christian (Aaron Dominguez), who are opening a trendy organic café in the city’s French Quarter. Their dreams quickly sour when Emily discovers an ancient, cursed Witchboard—a mystical pendulum board used centuries ago to summon spirits. Succumbing to the artifact’s mysterious pull, Emily finds herself spiraling into obsession and darkness.

Desperate, Christian enlists the help of Alexander Babtiste (Jamie Campbell Bower), a charismatic occult expert hiding secrets of his own. As Emily’s grasp on reality slips, the couple and their friends are dragged into a dangerous web of witchcraft, betrayal, and demonic forces. The struggle escalates to a decadent masked ball at Babtiste’s mansion, where betrayal and terror blend and the line between the living and the dead vanishes. The final race: shatter the Witchboard’s curse before it consumes them all.
